Twenty-seven year old Qes Efraim Zion-Lawi, the first Israeli-born qes, will visit the Jewish community of Rhode Island during the last week of March.

Qes Efraim Zion-Lawi will be in Rhode Island Sunday March 23 to Sunday March 30
1. Qes Efraim will offer his greetings at the Providence Kollel’s Jewish Unity Live event, taking place on Sunday evening, March 23 at 6:45 at the Renaissance Hotel in Providence.
2. Qes Efraim will be giving a class on Ethiopian Judaism at the Providence Kollel on Tuesday evening, March 25 at Congregation Ohawe Sholam, 671 East Ave. in Pawtucket. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
3. There will be an Oneg Shabbat in honor of Qes Efraim at the home of Dr. Michael and Elissa Felder in Providence on Friday evening, March 28.
4. Congregation Beth Sholom, will be hosting Qes Efraim on Shabbat morning, March 29. He will chant parts of the Ethiopian Jewish Shabbat service during morning prayers. After services, there will be an Ethiopian-style vegetarian meal in honor of the qes, at which he will speak and entertain questions.
